Where is my memory stored?

On infrastructure we run for you, encrypted at rest with a 256-bit key unique to you — so a leaked database is unreadable. We don't claim we can't read your memory; we commit that we won't, and every decryption by our service is on record in your dashboard and sealed into a public, tamper-evident log. The AI tools you connect see only what they ask for, when you ask.

Which AI tools work with Penny?

Any tool that speaks the Model Context Protocol. Today that includes Claude on desktop and web, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Cursor, Codex, and Claude Code.

Can I export everything?

Yes. From your dashboard you can read, edit, and delete your memories and notes, and export everything anytime: a complete JSON file you can move to another tool, your notes as Markdown files, and your trackers as CSV. Your memory is yours; we just hold it.

Can I delete a memory?

Yes — one memory, a tag, or all of it. Deleted memories sit in a 30-day recoverable trash, then they're gone for real. Deletion is deletion, not a soft flag.

Do you train on my data?

No. Your memory exists to serve you across your own tools. The intelligence is whatever LLM you connect. Penny is the memory layer, not a model. For any background processes we use only directly hosted hardware and zero-data-retention (ZDR) providers so none of your data is available to companies that would use it for training.

What if I stop paying?

You get an export window. After that we delete what we hold, because it's yours.
