Using Penny

Save reusable instructions as a skill

Keep a checklist or preferred method ready for a connected AI to use again.

Updated October 12, 2026

A Penny skill saves a way you want work done. It can hold a checklist, a review method, or instructions for producing a familiar kind of output.

Ask your connected AI to create a skill with a clear name, a description of when to use it, and the instructions. For example: “Save a skill called Review a workshop outline. Use it when I ask you to check an outline. Check the audience, the sequence, the timing, and the decisions that still need my input.” Ask to see the proposed wording before saving it.

Open Skills to inspect the saved skill. Select it to review the Name, Description, and Instructions. Make an edit and select Save changes. A skill the AI should find easily needs a description that names the task it fits.

Skills can be On demand or Scheduled. A scheduled skill becomes due for a connected agent to consider. Penny does not run the work on its own. If you want reliable unattended execution, the connected AI tool needs an appropriate recurring session or agent.

Keep the permission to act explicit when scheduling. Gathering information, preparing a draft, and sending something externally are different scopes. You can pause a skill from the list when you do not want it offered.
