Installation guide

Install Penny for Antigravity

Connect Antigravity CLI to Penny with its native skill, conversation rule and approved OAuth tools.

Instructions checked October 11, 2026

Install the Helper Labs plugin

agy plugin install https://github.com/HelperLabs/penny-antigravity

Review the installed skill, rule, reminder hook and MCP server. Direct repository installation is available; marketplace approval is a separate process. For a specific version, inspect and extract the archive from GitHub Releases and install that directory with agy plugin install /absolute/path/to/penny-antigravity.

Protect credentials and sign in

Before signing in on macOS or Linux, protect the host’s credential directory:

mkdir -p ~/.gemini/antigravity-cli
chmod 700 ~/.gemini/antigravity-cli

In Antigravity, run /mcp, select penny-antigravity_MyPenny and choose Authenticate. Sign in to Penny, approve the displayed access and paste the callback code into the CLI. Keep the code private.

After sign-in, protect the token file:

chmod 600 ~/.gemini/antigravity-cli/mcp_oauth_tokens.json

CLI 1.3.3 created that file with mode 0644 in our test. The private directory protects its contents if the host recreates it. Keep normal native tool approvals enabled.

Enable Penny for this conversation

In your private foreground conversation, tell the agent:

Enable Penny for this conversation. Read the MyPenny skill, start the session, and use Penny when my history would help. Ask before any write or delete that needs approval.

MyPenny is the installed skill’s identifier. Installation alone does not enable memory, and enabling one conversation does not enable another.

Verify and review what is shared

Search Penny for the exact phrase "Penny connection check 7c98e2". An empty result is fine. Do not save or change anything.

Approve the read once. A tool result, including an empty one, confirms the connection. Returned memory enters the active conversation and its selected model. Review Antigravity’s history and data-sharing settings before using private memory.

The hook prints public guidance, reads no transcript and makes no Penny calls. The skill and rule guide the model; they cannot enforce audience or per-conversation access. Disable the plugin or MCP server in background, headless, scheduled, remote, shared and subagent contexts that must have no private-memory access. Recall, exit saves and saves before compaction are not automatic or guaranteed.

Disconnect or remove

From your terminal, disable or remove the plugin:

agy plugin disable penny-antigravity
# Or remove it:
agy plugin uninstall penny-antigravity

Revoke the connection in Penny Settings → Connections to end server access. Plugin removal does not establish that the host’s stored authorization or remote grant was removed.

Antigravity’s plugin guide covers the host’s installed-plugin controls.

Having trouble?

Check agy plugin list if the plugin is missing. Reopen /mcp to authenticate the exact server. Confirm Node.js is on PATH if the reminder hook does not load, and use the verified CLI version rather than the IDE instructions.
