Share selected knowledge in a Space

For invited members: choose a workspace, review the exact sharing proposal, and verify the shared result.

Updated October 12, 2026

A Space lets members work with selected shared knowledge while keeping their personal Penny accounts separate. Use this workflow when you have been invited to a Space and want to contribute a particular piece of information.

Worked example: share a workshop decision

Suppose your personal notes contain an agreed workshop format, private preparation thoughts, and unrelated personal context. The other members need the agreed format. Prepare a short shared note about that decision instead of copying the whole personal record.

First open Spaces. Accept the intended invitation if it is still pending, then open the Space and inspect its workspaces. Spaces appear in navigation when you have membership or a pending invitation. If you have neither, this workflow does not require you to create a Space or share your personal login.

Check who belongs to the Space and whether the intended workspace is the right destination. Give your connected AI both the Space name and workspace name; a familiar workspace name such as General can exist in more than one Space.

Prepare the sharing proposal

Replace the destination names and example facts before copying:

Prepare a proposal to share a new Penny note in the Workshop group Space,
in its Planning workspace. Confirm that exact destination before preparing it.

Use only these facts:
We chose a 45-minute workshop with a short introduction and two exercises.
The reason was to leave participants enough time to practise.
The exercise order still needs review.

Don't copy my personal notes, core memories or unrelated conversation details.
Show the proposed note and intended audience.
Leave it pending for my sharing approval; don't treat this prompt as approval.

When Penny returns a pending sharing proposal, the information has not yet been shared. Open Spaces and find Pending approvals. Match the displayed Space/workspace names and member count to the destination you intended. Select Preview and read the exact content. Check that it contains only the facts you chose.

Select Approve to share that proposal, or Reject if the destination or content is wrong. If it is rejected or expired, prepare and review a new proposal rather than assuming the old one was saved. A failed preview is a reason to wait and resolve the error before approving.

Verify the saved result

After approval, check for Approved — shared to the space. Ask the AI to read the shared note from the named workspace and compare it with the preview. Use a specific read request:

Read the workshop decision from the Workshop group Space's Planning workspace.
Show the saved note and the workspace it came from.
Compare it with the three facts I approved and report any difference.
Don't add anything from my private memory.

Ask an authorized member to confirm they can find that shared note when the workflow requires a handoff. Inspect your personal Notes separately to check that a personal source you wanted to retain is still there. Proposal approval and workspace readback verify different steps: permission to share and the resulting saved content.

Sharing exposes the approved information to people and authorized bots with access to the destination. It does not make your whole personal memory available to the Space. Treat an unfamiliar shared statement as information someone contributed, and check its source before relying on it.
