A weekly review helps you decide what deserves attention next. Your connected AI can read Penny's current records, compare them with your latest update, and help you choose a manageable plan. You still decide what is complete, what moves, and what gets added.
Pick a review period and timezone. Read the actual tasks and relevant Project Resources before relying on an old summary. A Project's Progress records a saved state; linked notes, tasks, or tracker entries may have changed since that update.
Review before changing anything
Copy this prompt and replace the dates and Project names:
Use Penny to review October 5–11, 2026 in America/Chicago. Read my private Projects "Writing workshop" and "Reading practice," their current To-dos, and relevant Resources. Read overdue and upcoming deadlines, plus the reading tracker entries for that period. Load more results if a list is incomplete.
Summarize completed work, open commitments, changed facts, and decisions I need to make. Separate real deadlines from dates I planned to work. Tell me when Progress is older than its sources. Suggest no more than three priorities for the coming week. Do not change records yet.
The review is limited to information you saved or provide in the conversation. Tell the AI about work completed elsewhere before asking it to update Penny.
Work through an example
In this fictitious review, your workshop Project still says the outline needs drafting. Its To-do is already marked Done, and the linked outline is available. The reading tracker has three entries totaling 60 pages. Your intended goal was 80 pages, but you forgot to record one session and cannot remember its page count.
The workshop Progress needs updating. The reading evidence supports 60 logged pages; the actual week's total remains uncertain. A missing entry does not establish that you did no reading.
You decide to review the workshop outline Tuesday, with a Friday deadline. An equipment idea can stay a suggestion. Give the AI the changes you accept. Replace the dates and reading total with the results you just verified:
For real work, replace every example name, fact, date, and value with information you have verified. If you are rehearsing the fictional example, prefix new records with Practice: and explicitly label their saved text as fictional practice data. Keep example updates out of real Projects.
Use the actual records and findings verified in this review. If this is the fictional example, use new records named Practice: and label their text as fictional practice data. Do not update a real Project with practice data.
Update "Writing workshop" Progress to reflect the completed outline, after checking the current To-do and Resource. Create "Review workshop outline," owned by me, with When October 13, 2026 and Deadline October 16, 2026 in America/Chicago. Check for a matching task first.
Keep the equipment idea as a suggested next step. Do not accept it as a To-do. Save a dated weekly-review note recording the tracker total verified in this review and any known unmeasured sessions, with no invented entry. Add a workshop Checkpoint describing the agreed next action. Read back the changes and report anything not saved.
Verify your new plan
Open Projects and check the updated Progress and Checkpoint. Inspect Plan: the outline review should be a To-do, while equipment remains under Suggested next steps. Open the task in Tasks to verify its Owner and both dates.
Find the review note in Notes and confirm it distinguishes observations from missing information. Changing a Project's Status does not finish its To-dos; close or cancel those individually when appropriate.
See Projects, task scheduling, and trackers for the underlying controls.
